Privacy Issues-To be or not to to be

One privacy issue is the exposure of people's personal records such as credit reporting, education and financial records. Another issue is the fact it is not enough protection to protect online consumer privacy in advertising networks that collect records or web activity. A third issue would be the lack of protection of medical records. Before a certain law passed pertaining medical records, information was shared without consent of the patients. Now there is a provision that says doctors, hospitals, and other health providers must now limit the information they share with others. A way organizations can deal with safeguarding the organizations privacy is using certain policies. There is plenty of new technology that can prevent certain information from being shared. Privacy advocates would like to see wider use of an opt-in model of informed consent in which businesses is prohibited from collecting personal information unless permission is given by the consumer. Policies such as these should be adopted by organizations and things would prbably go a lot smoother as far as privacy issues are concerned.
