Presentation Day
In my opinion I believe the majority of the things went right concerning the project. Information was thoughtfully sought and accurate information was presented. I do believe that enough evidence was presented for the most part and everyone did a great job. Nobody totally neglected the assignment which is always a plus. I really can't complain about any of the presentations.
As far as what went wrong in the presentation, thats hard to say. I believe everyone was focused but of course things can always be better and more information can always be acquired. The links as far as social media was what went wrong in me and Joe's project. I accidently made a couple mistakes and I neglected to put in the social media part. Everyone was up to par and honestly I don't think too much went wrong.
Comparing everyone projects I can't say who did a better job. Everyone was equally involved and everyone was willing to speak. I do believe that a couple groups had a tad more information and maybe a little more time was taken in doing the project. I don't really like criticizing anybody but patience is a virtue. Overall more in depth information can make it better. Hands on experience always makes it easier to make things better in the future. The things we are blogging about we should take the time and actually get it done. Once you get more in depth with your topic and you recieve more experience, actually doing it makes it seem easy. Going to different websites and getting deeper with the infomration will definitely enhance projects such as these. Im looking forward to whats next.

"Job Fair Observation"
1. What technology is being utilized today? Is it effective and why?
The technology being utilized today was very scarce. There were really only a few of the businesses that were present today that actually brought technology. When you first come in the doors you will see the resume workshop. The technology being used there was the computers and they were for vistors who were interested in creating a resume.
The Plus One business which uses phone and the internet mainly for the job was present also. They were also one of the very few that really presented some sort of technologty. Websites, e-mails, you name it they were very aware of the importance of technology. A Dj booth with the sound system and the mic was another form of technology today. Some businesses were collecting e-mail information and that was really about it. Not too much technology was actually being utilized today.
How effective was this in general? In my honest opinion I don't believe it was very effective. The resume writing workshop and Dj booth may have very well been the most effective technology here today. I don't think some of the businesses were actually prepared or they just may have felt that technology being present today was sort of irrelevant. It was not effective because I don't think that businesses felt technology was needed for this job fair. For one reason or another not much thought was put into technology or the job fair at Herzing today.
2. What Technology could or should have been utilized? why?
The technology that should or could have been used was internet or some sort of technology in general that could have gave us a broader look at things. Maybe a computer screen that shows exactly what is being described or just something. Why is it important? We as students are so involved with technology that we expect it constantly. Most businesses are using technology in the world today so even at job fairs I believe it should be used. Basically whatever we are accustomed to is what we should expect and businesses should know that. If you are seeking employees you may want to describe something that really needs to be described digitally. For the most part it could have been a lot better and maybe next time technology will be utilized a bit better than today.

Module seven maps
I chose Colorado because it is absolutely beautiful out there. I lived there for a couple years and I would not mind going back on vacation. I also chose New York and Las Vegas. I really enjoy the fast pace movement and those are just great states to be in. Although they are both expensive they both have a lot of opportunity to offer. Business maps are definitel useful especially in areas as large as these. You can easily find where you are going and it would save a lot of time in general.
Social Responsibility
Social Responsibility is defined as an entity, be it an organization or individual has an obligation to act to benefit society at large. Social responsibility is also described as a duty every individual or organzation has to perform so as to maintain a balance between the economy and the ecosystem. I am involved in social responsibility in a number of ways. One example is I am a volunteer for a youth program. I am expected to act as a role model as opposed to what the world is seeing today. There are a lot of unethical things going on in society so I have to maintain a good impression and keep doing what I have been currently doing. Me as a herzing student also shows how I am involved with social responsibility. When people see me with my Herzing T-shirt on they automatically know I am involved with education. Kids see that and they know that it's a chance they could go to Herzing also. It's all about being beneficial to society and showing them the positive side of life.
Delicious Bookmarking
I chose 11 bookmarks and most of them consisted of the clothing company. I also selected a gossip site for celebs strictly for the entertainment. Youtube, FaceBook, yahoo, and Ask.com were included because of the information they could provide. These particular sites keeps you updated on the latest trends, the latest gossip, and whats going on in the world today. I selected knowledgeable sites in order to keep myself in the loop of things. We all know that social media keeps you current so there is no mistaken why a favorite bookmark would be something pertaining to social media. The fact that I am in business and have been actually thinking about going in the clothing business, I need to know everything that is going on in that area. As long as I have them bookmarked, I can always see whats the latest and what I can do to make it better for myself.
Privacy Issues-To be or not to to be
One privacy issue is the exposure of people's personal records such as credit reporting, education and financial records. Another issue is the fact it is not enough protection to protect online consumer privacy in advertising networks that collect records or web activity. A third issue would be the lack of protection of medical records. Before a certain law passed pertaining medical records, information was shared without consent of the patients. Now there is a provision that says doctors, hospitals, and other health providers must now limit the information they share with others. A way organizations can deal with safeguarding the organizations privacy is using certain policies. There is plenty of new technology that can prevent certain information from being shared. Privacy advocates would like to see wider use of an opt-in model of informed consent in which businesses is prohibited from collecting personal information unless permission is given by the consumer. Policies such as these should be adopted by organizations and things would prbably go a lot smoother as far as privacy issues are concerned.

Chapter 6 Responses
The problems of managing data resources in a traditional file environment is all the data that has been collected. Data redundancy and inconsistency has become a a big issue. Multiple data files being duplicated and stored has become common in these situations and things are not organized. Data redundancy wastes storage resources and also leads to the inconsistency of data. All the pieces of information that is is stored in different ares makes it hard to keep up with certain material. That means accurate information is not gather in a timely manner. A database management system helps solve this problem because it is a software that helps organize and manage data efficiently. This database system also makes the physical database available for different logical views required by users. All in all the data base system makes it a whole lot easier. Lack of flexibility and poor security is also a big problem with the traditonal file environment. Organizations are much better off without using this particular file system.
The data hierarchy starts with the bit, which represents either a 0 or 1. Bits can be grouped to form a byte to represent one character, number, or symbol. Bytes can be grouped to form a field, and related fields can be grouped to fomr a record. Related records can be collected to form a file, and related files can be organized into a database. A record describes an entity. An entity is a person, place, or thing, that we store information aabout. An attribute describes an entity. Every record has its own unique thing about it. The chance of duplication is slimmer and it's less complicated.

1934 Packard Automobile

I chose to make this post because I came across this beautiful automobile and I could not resist. This automobile is so original and is a legendary. I have a great friend who has always loved these automobiles and cannot get enough of looking at them. He told me he remembered this particular automobile in Indiana Jones and it took me back. This Packard is amazing and I want the world to see just how nice this automobile really is.
Chapter 10 question
E-commerce has transformed marketing in a huge way. Marketers have been provided with various ways to communicate with potential customers at lower costs than the traditional media. The internet has proven to find easier ways to reach people and advertise products. With all the subscriptions and information that is given by us as people, businesses use that information to figure our wants and desires. E-commerce has by far come a long way in the world thanks to us.
Social networking and the "wisdom of crowds" help companies improve simply by commenting on the product. Sources suggest that a large number of people can make better decisions about a wide range of topics than a smaller group could do. The wisdom of crowd concept also suggest that firms should consult with thousands of their customers as a way of establishing and to help them better understand the products. Firms can also use the wisdom of crowds in the form of predictioons markets.
Behavioral Targeting refers to tracking the click stream (history of clicking behavior) of individuals and their interest and intentions, and exposing their advertisments suited to their behavior. Two levels behavioral targeting takes place on is at websites and advertising networks. Thousands of users are tracked across thousands of websites and they are stored into a database. A particular page and a particular site is alos tracked along with whatever purchase you may have made. That alone shows how behavioral targeting works on individual websites and advertising networks. Everything you do online is visible and then is easily taken and used back on you. The more we show the easier behavioral targeting will be.

The non-verbal work environment
The game we played consisted of building a helicopter. My job as the CEO was to answer yes or no questions only. One of my teammates would come ask me a specific question about the making of the helicopter and I would verbally say yes or no and nothing more. I learned from that experience alone how difficult it could be to create something without specific directions. It showed that a yes or no is not quite enough information in complex situations such as the building of a helicopter. If not already familarized with the building of such a thing it could be very problematic for the builder if things are not specified. The benefits of verbal behavior is things are clearly understood. More so than using the non-verbal method. You don't have to beat yourself up about a particular thing you don't know when you can express it verbally. The benefits of non-verbal behavior is that you are forced to think and do it alone. That helps you do things without having to ask for verbal directions in the future. Verbal and non-verbal can be detrimental to the work environment. Ambiguity becomes an issue when doing non-verbal activities if not familiar with the job description. Being too verbal makes it too easy and challenges decrease. There are a lot of different issues to deal with it in the non-verbal and verbal enviroment. The more practice at both the easier you will see it later.

What is Digital Firm
A digital firm is one in which nearly all of the organizations significant relationships with customers, suppliers, and employess are digitally enabled and mediated. Digital firms respond more rapidly than traditional firms giving them more flexibility to survive in hard times. Everything is now digital and therefore you have to stay with whats current. In a digital firm any information needed to support key business decisions is available anywhere in the firm. This makes it extremely easier for the business. Being able to replace face to face meetings and just doing video meetings saves time and money. Digital Firms is strictly internet driven and that won't change any time soon.
Whats the Big Deal About RSS?
RSS stands for b Rich Site Summaryb and is a type of XML document used to share news headlines and other web content. RSS is used by developers to create an XML description of their website. Really Simple Syndication as it is also referred as is a family of web feed formats to publish frequently update works. Basically whats new and popular can be easily accessed through RSS. Broken down and separated into category, RSS has a simple way of operating and that makes it extremely easy to use. Suscribe to whatever it is you want and RSS makes sure you recieve feeds about it daily. Large businesses use this to their advantage because they see everything quickly. Since there is always something new going on RSS can help provide you with information on a consistent basis about any particular thing you need. Not having to go through a bunch of other information but being able to access things quickly is convenient. Small and independent businesses has a slim chance of competing. However, if small businesses were to start using the RSS so stay updated, they would be able to acquire information they need on a regular basis also. RSS is ultimately what's made blogging such a new powerful form of communication. Everybody sharing ideas and coming up with all types of ideas is great. Staying current and updated with everything thats going on and being able to do it without extra baggage is a relief. There are so many ways to use the RSS. They provide audio feeds, video feeds, and you can access these things automatically. There is definitely a big deal about the RSS. It is amazing and something that should have been used decades ago.
Chapter 6 Responses
The concept illustrated in this case is the fact that things can be easily disorganized. While so much is happening in the world it's hard to keep track of every wrong-doer. The databases used in this case has proven to be unreliable to an extent. Instead of cutting everything into one database the government has chosen to go a different route. Various different lists being created and not enough accurate information has proven to be confusing to the goverment. If not broken down to minimal lists and categories, certain information can get bvypassed and turn deadly for the citizens.Being concerned for the citizens of the country is great and impressionable. But the accuracy issues of the lists being created and potential terriorists can cause enormous problems. Using a more sophisticated system involving more personal data about potential terrorists would be amazing. According to this case the watch list has drawn criticism. People feel as though the watch lists promotes racial profiling and discrimination. Certain individuals who were supposed to be on the watch list never made it on there. That goes to show how unaccurate the government can really be. After examining referrals to the FBI list, reports find 35 percent of people remained on the watch list without justification. The better the organization the more accurate the information will be. Without an improving system there is no way to know if your actually safe from whats going on. Its apparent the government has a lot of work to do.
